My Sakura Fantasy

"Sakura" is the japanese term for cherry blossoms. I wasn't able to visit the cherry blossoms in Korea last spring coz I was too early for it last March, but I was just in time for the cherry blossoms festival in Washington, D.C. when I arrived there during the first week of April. Lucky me! There were parades, hotdog and pretzel stands on every street corners, and people from different places and races were there for the said event.

My childhood friend, Stanley and I spent the entire five hours strolling along the long stretch of D.C., and I actually never felt tired nor hungry. I guess we were too busy taking pictures, admiring the view, people watching and catching up with old times.

Favorite Things I did when I was in Virginia:

1. Visit Shilla Bakery! It's a Korean bakeshop that serves the yummiest pastries in town! It really lives up to the Korean style in baking, "look good and taste good!"

2. Eat at Ara. Again, a korean bar and restaurant which serves good food and not to mention they have a lot of good looking customers. Mostly American-Koreans!

3. Malls. As expected, whenever I visit a country I never fail to visit their shopping malls and practice my shopping skills! My favorite stores? H&M, Zara, Forever21, Charlotte Russe and Urban Outfitters to name a few.

4. Eat Avocado Egg rolls at Cheesecake Factory. I know they also have branches in other states but it's in Virginia where I had my first Cheesecake Factory memory:)

5. Spent lots of time with Twinkle.:)

Thanks to Tito Dan and Family for welcoming me in their home during my few days stay in Virginia. I feel so happy and blessed to have them.

Seoul Food!

HyunJae and I can't seem to get enough of this delicious chicken which we ate while drinking soju and watching Hugh Jackman fight off his enemies in Wolverine. It's the first time I ate chicken without any gravy, ketchup or other condiments that go well with it. And based on HyunaJae's reaction to the chicken(picture1), you can say we finished the whole thing! I tried ordering the same chicken in a Korean resto near my home in Ortigas, but it's not quite the same. Can't wait to go back to Seoul to have more of those chickens! U can say "mashita" indeed!

Nothing beats a hot serving of Kalbichim with steamed rice after a day of shopping! Hyunjae brought me to this cozy Korean Restaurant in Insadong. Bulgogi is also one of my favorite Korean dish. During my visit to my boyfie's home, his mom cooked the most delicious Bulgogi I ever had! Perhaps it's best eaten with people close to your heart.:)

Orange u glad?

This picture reminds me of being so small in this big crazy world! People try to do everything that is fun but are they happy? Some people think that if they have all the money and fame in the world, then they would be happy. But statistics show that a large percentage of people who commit suicide are not necessarily poor.

This made me think. What makes me happy? Shopping and partying gives me a temporary high but more often that not, it leaves me exhausted and keeps me wanting for more. Thus, still leaving me unfulfilled.

What makes me happy? Traveling. Going to places and getting to know more about their culture. It broadens my horizons and widens my perspective. But it leaves my bank account unhappy! haha! But nonetheless, nothing beats personal experience, not to mention having those precious memories with my newfound friends.

What makes me happy? It's when I see my mom and dad proud of me. It's when I see my dog, happily wiggling her tail just by the sight of me. It's when I spend countless hours bonding and laughing out loud with my sister and dear friends. It's when I see a happy customer stepping out of my store. It's when I get to spend time with my loved one, even without saying anything, we know we are happy.

What makes me happy? Sure, money can put a smile on my face but it's the love of my family and friends that puts warmth in my heart.

Where's my Ken?

Two weeks ago, I had a spur-of-the-moment Barbie inspired pictorial with my sister and pretty photographer friends in my Pink room. I usually do fashion shows but it has always been my dream job to style for photoshoots! And I had so much fun doing it!

As a little girl, I always dreamed of growing up looking like Barbie. Having flawless skin, perfect features, the darn so hot figure and having Ken as my arm-candy! But in reality there is no such thing as perfection. We just have to be happy and make the most of what we have. I may not be perfect but I love being me!
